The Los Angeles Kings played arguably the best 60 minutes of the series so far and they still fell to the Edmonton Oilers 1-0, taking the series back to Edmonton at 3-1.
It was a 33 save performance for Stuart Skinner, who despite being seen as a weakness by some heading into the series, has allowed just one goals in the last two games.
Of course, some of that is down to the Kings' lack of finish.
That lack of finish is most seen in two of their highest-paid forwards, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Kevin Fiala.
With just one goals and zero assists between the two of them, the Kings aren't reaping the benefits of spreading out their talent and having two $7+ million players in their bottom six.
It doesn't all fall on those two, Trevor Moore, and his entire line, have provided next to nothing offensively either.
However, they're busy trying to shutdown the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, a difficult task.
Dubois and Fiala, on the other hand, are matched up against bottom six players and still can't find the net.
The Kings needed those two to be difference maker and so far they've done nothing.
Of course, special teams played a big part in this game too.
Not in quantity, but in quality.
There were just two penalties in this one, shared between the two teams, and you can guess who came out on top of that battle.
It was a good representation of this series. Edmonton went 1-1 on the power-play, while the Kings went 0-1 and that was the difference in this game.
The Kings' 5-on-5 dominance meant nothing in the end because they can't get a kill or power-play goal right now.
The Kings' power play registered just one shot attempt and no shots on target as they look lost.
The Kings are now in do or die mode heading back to Edmonton facing elimination.
A loss in Game Five would be a step backwards for the team and could cause some big changes in the organization.
