The Los Angeles Kings & Winnipeg Jets Could Make a Big Trade This Summer

The Los Angeles Kings appear to be one top-end scorer away from experiencing a different result in the postseason. In the past three seasons, they have lost at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers, and although at times they outplayed the Oilers, they didn't score enough to win the series to come out on top.

If the Kings were able to add one more top-end player playing alongside names like Kevin Fiala, Adrain Kempe, Quintin Byfield, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Anze Kopitar, they may finally find the scoring they need in the postseason to get them over the hump and into the second round.  

Well, the belief in Winnipeg is that the team could be shopping Nikolaj Ehlers. It seems as though the fit is no longer there, and both sides may be interested in a change.

If the Kings can meet the needs of the Jets at their asking price for Ehlers, they shouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on that deal.

Ehlers can provide the Kings with another 30+ goal-scoring forward aside from Fiala and Kempe. It would also give the Kings another top-six winger, which would help round out their top-six group.

As of right now, it doesn't seem like the Jets have revealed their asking price for Ehlers, but if the Kings do want to acquire him, they will need to pay a fair amount.

This could be the second year in a row that these two teams make a large offseason splash with one another to help shake up their rosters.
