The Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers are a day away from puck drop in their first-round series. In preparation, the Kings have made a few roster moves to add depth to their lineup.
Firstly, the Kings have recalled Carl Grundstrom from the AHL after he had completed his conditioning stint with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. The team will still need to activate him off of LTIR, but things look to be trending in the right direction.
Grundstrom suffered a lower-body injury on Feb. 14 and has been out for two months recovering from the injury. He looks to be ready to return to the Kings' lineup and it wouldn't be surprising if they activate him just before the drop of the puck.
The second transaction that they announced was recalling Aaron Dell from the Reign of the OHL. This is more of a depth move to add another goalie to the roster in case of injuries.
Kings fans shouldn't expect to see Dell suit up for the team during the first round of the playoffs. Unless there is an injury to one of Cam Talbot or David Rittich. Regardless, it is a smart move to ensure the team is prepared and as deep as possible ahead of the start of Game 1.
