The scene was set, the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins playing an NHL game in Quebec City for the first time in more than a decade.
We had to expect some fireworks, regardless of it being a pre-season game. That's exactly what we got, early in the first period.
Bruins forward Jeffrey Viel went for a big open ice hit on Kings forward Alex Turcotte, it looked to be a bit low, which drew the attention of Andre Lee, Vladislav Gavrikov, and Kyle Burroughs.
After Lee and Viel left the box after serving their respective penalties. Lee wanted to settle the score and dropped the gloves to defend Turcotte.
Although it wasn't much of a fight, it is awesome to see the Kings players buying in and protecting one another.
