After the Los Angeles Kings were blown out in Game One against the Edmonton Oilers, questions about who should start in net for Game Two quickly popped up.

Jim Hiller went right back to Cam Talbot and the Kings took Game Two in overtime.

The Kings grabbed in overtime win to tie the series, but the calls to start David Rittich over Talbot have continued.

These calls aren't completely without reason, his .867 save percentage is far from ideal, and there's been a few stoppable pucks that beat Talbot.

However, the Kings should stick with Talbot for Game Three.

It reminds me of the calls for Phoenix Copley to start over Joonas Korpisalo last season.

I get it, but it's important to remember that the grass isn't always greener and sticking with your number one goalie makes sense.

Rittich has been good this season when called upon, but this is a goalie with two NHL playoff games under his belt.

In those two games, he played a combined 32 minutes and finished with a .636 save percentage across the two games.

It's a small sample size, but we weren't talking about a goalie with a track record of success in the playoffs.

We're talking about a career backup whose never really played in the NHL playoffs.

Maybe Rittich would be an improvement, but that's far from a guarantee and the Kings aren't in a position where Talbot has lot them games.

The Kings' goalies often mirror how the team in front of them is playing.

If they're limiting chances and sticking to their defensive structure, the goalies will perform.

If not, the goalies are in trouble. The Kings don't have the luxury of a goalie that's going to consistently steal games.

There's no reason to panic in net and move away from Talbot just yet.

If he has a truly terrible outing in Game Three, having Rittich as an option is nice, but Hiller shouldn't turn to Rittich unless it's completely necessary.
