It was a running joke in the Los Angeles Kings' locker room that Anze Kopitar was seemingly breaking a new record or recording a new milestone every other game.
Now, the Kings are catching up and honoring Kopitar for his achievements on Wednesday against the Buffalo Sabres.
As a reminder, Kopitar became the franchise's leader in games played and assists, is now second in total points and scored his 400th career goal.
Kopitar has further cemented himself as one of the franchises all-time legends and is being honored as such Wednesday.
The Kings current run will make it difficult for Kopitar to relish in the ceremony though.
They've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, including a loss to the last place San Jose Sharks on Monday.
Still in a playoff spot, the Kings are slowly falling out of the playoff picture and need to fix things soon.

If the Kings continue to struggle with their finishing and can't correct their mental lapses, they'll be facing another loss on Wednesday.

An interesting thing to keep an eye on for tonight's game is the lines.
After switching spots a few games ago, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Quinton Byfield switched back on Monday.
Based on Tuesday's practice, Dubois and Byfield will make the switch full-time, but we'll have to wait for warmups to confirm that.
