The Los Angeles Kings have hired Tyler Wright as their director of player personnel. Wright previously worked with the Edmonton Oilers under Ken Holland, and they also worked together with the Detroit Red Wings before that.
Oilers fans questioned some of Wright's choices during his time with the organization, and he didn't seem to be the most loved staff member on the team.
Wright seems to have had the same reputation in both Detroit and Edmonton, which is that he had some solid picks that panned out, but also had some serious swings that missed.
Wright hasn't worked in the NHL since the 2022-23 season, but makes his return with 17 seasons of experience.
