The Los Angeles Kings have set an NHL record with their 11th consecutive road victory to start a season.
After tying the record on Tuesday in dramatic fashion, the Kings left no doubt on Thursday, thrashing the Montreal Canadiens 4-0.
Quinton Byfield was the show's star on Thursday, grabbing two goals and an assist in Montreal.
For Drew Doughty's opening goal, Byfield drew two defenders onto him before shifting the puck over to Doughty who scored in tight.
Byfield then scored a highlight reel goal, burning Kaiden Guhle to the net before bulldozing the Habs defensemen and tucking home far side.
It was a goal that perfectly encapsulated Byfield's unique skillset. First, the speed to beat Guhle wide, then the power to drive through him toward the net, and the finesse to beat Sam Montembeault in tight.
Byfield then put the Kings up three late in the second with a power-play goal.
The Kings were a bit fortunate on this one, after Kevin Fiala's stick broke on an attempted shot, the puck went straight to Anze Kopitar who fed a wide-open Byfield backdoor.
Byfield made no mistake, burying his eighth goal of the season.
Trevor Moore added an insurance goal in the third period as he continues his red-hot start to the season.
After a Canadiens defender fell at the offensive blue line, Fiala fed Moore on a breakaway and he made no mistake beating Montembeault glove side for his team-leading 13th goal.
The Kings then secured a second-straight shutout against the Montreal Canadiens, giving Talbot his second shutout in a Kings jersey.
The Kings will look to extend this road win steak to 12 on Saturday but will face a tough task in the New York Rangers.
It's going to be the Pacific Division's best team (by win percentage) against the Metropolitan Division's best in a battle of Cup hopefuls.
This will be the most difficult road game of the season for Los Angeles and a good measuring stick for Todd McLellan's team.
