After joining the tournament late, Los Angeles Kings forward Kevin Fiala ended the World Championships as tournament MVP en route to a silver medal.

That gives the Kings three medals at the tournament, with Adrian Kempe and Carl Grundstrom grabbing a bronze medal as well.

Fiala tore up the tournament, finishing second in points per game behind USA's Matt Boldy. He also finished tied for second in goals behind Canada's Dylan Cozens.

In Fiala-like fashion, he also finished fourth in penalty minutes with 27 in eight games.

An offensive powerhouse, alongside Roman Josi, Fiala helped lead Switzerland to a massive upset over Canada in the semi-finals.

They were unable to keep the impressive run going in the gold medal game, losing to the host nation Czechia.

Despite his team falling short, Fiala can hang his head high coming home as tournament MVP.

Coming off a disappointing playoff showing, grabbing just two points in five games, it will be nice for Fiala to end this hockey season on a personal high note.

The Kings need him to be a star next season, and in a perfect world, find a line he can stick with.

The chemistry wasn't there between Fiala and Pierre-Luc Dubois, creating problems for the Kings' lineup.

He was a success with Phil Danault and Trevor Moore but made way for Viktor Arvidsson on that line when Arvidsson was healthy.

With Arvidsson likely walking this summer, putting Fiala back with Moore and Danault might be the play for Jim Hiller.

That's an issue to figure out in a few months though. For now, Fiala can enjoy his MVP honors ahead of an important offseason for the Kings.
