Predicting the Kings' 2024-25 Opening Night Forward Group

With the 2024-25 NHL season and NHL training camps both right around the corner, it is time to look at what the Los Angeles Kings opening night forward group could look like.

Forward Line 1: Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe

Forward Line 2: Moore - Byfield - Foegele

Forward Line 3: Laferriere - Danault - Jeannot

Forward Line 4: Turcotte - Thomas - Lewis

These line combinations are loosely based on my co-editors, Austin Stanovich "too early forward line previews". The only major difference is that Austin had Laferriere on the top line and Moore with Danault and Fiala with Byfield.

I feel that these lines could provide the Kings the best chance to win at the start of the season. There is room for improvement or potentially an Arthur Kaliyev signing to boost their depth scoring.

After the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade, it is Quinton Byfield's time to shine, he will be looking to take the next step and take over the team.

With these four line combinations, you have the standard two scoring lines. Complimented with a grinding third line and a unique fourth line that has two young forwards paired with a grizzled veteran. If the Kings can get production from all four lines, they should set themselves up for a good start to the season.
