Yesterday, the LA Kings announced the following roster moves, loaning both forwards Jared Wright and Kenny Connors to the Ontario Reign. But this morning, Jared Wright was recalled to the Kings.

The Los Angeles Kings announced Saturday that they have loaned forward Kenny Connors to the Ontario Reign and recalled Jared Wright.

Just a day after sending him down, Los Angeles now decides to bring Wright back, while sending Connors back to the AHL, most likely due to several forwards currently out with injuries.

Wright and Connors both played two games for the Kings this season after being recalled from Los Angeles a few days ago. Both forwards played in the last two games against the Colorado Avalanche and New York Islanders, providing Los Angeles with strong defense and energy in their minutes, but didn't put up any numbers on the stat sheet.

The trades and signings that Los Angeles made during the deadline affected these roster moves. After Los Angeles acquired center Scott Laughton from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and signed Mathieu Joseph to a one-year contract for the remainder of the season, Los Angeles decided to loan Wright back to the Reign and keep Connors with the Kings.

Los Angeles has several guys out with injuries right now, including Joel Armia, Andrei Kuzmenko, Kevin Fiala, and potentially Quinton Byfield. The Kings will be very shorthanded today against the Montreal Canadiens, so it looks like they have leaned heavily on their younger core in recent weeks. Wright’s quick recall suggests the team may need immediate forward help, whether due to lineup uncertainty or potential game-day decisions.
