The Los Angeles Kings were in desperate need of some skill in their prospect pipeline and that's exactly what they got when drafting Liam Greentree 26th overall.

Greentree is a big, powerful winger with a ton of offensive upside. He owns one of the best shots in the 2024 draft and is an excellent one-on-one player.

He's got some underrated playmaking too.

There are some concerns with his skating and the consistency of his intensity, however, the Kings are betting big on his toolkit.

It's easy to see why too. He was one of the most productive first-year draft-eligible players in the OHL last season playing on a very weak Windsor Spitfires team.

His 90 points led the team by 24 last season, meaning he created a lot of his offense alone and was a driver for his team.

He was also the team's captain as a 17-year-old, a testament to his off-ice personality.

Greentree signed his ELC and attended development camp a few weeks ago where he showed off the skill and power that enticed the Kings.

Because of those skating and compete concerns, he's probably still a few seasons away from being a real contributor for the Kings.

But by his draft+3 season, he should be a real threat to make the roster.
