Will these four players accept their offers?

With Friday being the deadline to extend qualifying offers, the LA Kings decided to send offers to fours players within the teams organization.

Forawrds Samuel Fagemo, Akil Thomas, Tyler Madden and defenseman Tobias Bjornfot all were offered one year deals.

The four players now have the ability to sign what the Kings offered them or can decline the offer and become a restricted free agent.

If another team offers them a contract, the Kings have the ability to match whatever the other team offers.

Fagemo and Bjornfoot both got some NHL experience this year after both being selected in the 2019 entry draft.

The 22-year old Bjornfoot played in 10 games this season, recording one point and had a +/- of one.

In the nine games Fagemo played, he put up three points, including two goals. Both Fagemo and Bjornfoot are key young players for the Kings future.

Both Thomas and Madden have yet to play a game for the Kings despite being selected in 2018.

In 71 games with the Ontario Reign, Madden put up 33 points and scored 20 goals.

Thomas had an injury riddled 2022-2023 season that only saw him play in 13 games. In those games, however, he put up eight points and five goals.

Just like Bjornfoot and Fagemo, both Madden and Thomas are in the Kings long term future plans. By being given a qualifying offer, it seems as if all four players will get some playing time in the NHL next season.

The Kings will now have to wait and see what the players decide. If the players don't accept the offers, it seems like the Kings front office will try to retain them.
