    Another offseason move for LA!

    Another offseason move for LA!

LA Kings News: LA Makes Trade For Early 2024 Draft Pick

With just a few days before the NHL Draft and the start of free agency, the Los Angeles Kings made a trade to relieve some cap room and add some extra draft capital in the process. The team traded away defenseman Sean Durzi to the Arizona Coyotes for a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. The pick was originally held by the Montreal Canadiens, so Kings fans will need to watch how their season plays out to see where the pick will be.

The 24-year-old defender finished last season with 38 points total. He had nine goals and 29 points during the regular season and added one goal during the team's first-round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers.

Durzi made his NHL debut in 2021-2022 and is still growing his game within the league. He will now get a chance to thrive in Arizona and build out his career.

This is a move made by the Kings to give them some extra flexibility as we head deeper into the offseason. LA has been linked to some big names on the market, and General Manager Rob Blake wants to make a splash.

The Kings have made the playoffs for two consecutive seasons but have failed to move past the first round of the postseason. As a franchise, they haven't won a playoff series since 2014, so this offseason is one of the more crucial ones in recent memory for LA.
