
The Anaheim Ducks have agreed to terms with former Wild goaltender, Alex Stalock on a one-year contract for the 2023-24 season.
The St. Paul, MN, natative went 37-30-11 for the Wild in 89 career games across four seasons with his hometown Wild team. After the Wild let Stalock go, he was part of the Edmonton Oilers for the 2020-21 season but never played an NHL game.
He spent the season on the injured reserve with a heart condition. He was diagnosed with myocarditis which is an inflammation of the heart muscle that can lead to cardiac arrest.
But Stalock returned to the NHL during the 2021-22 season where he played one game for the San Jose Sharks after playing 17 games in the AHL with both the Bakersfield Condors and San Jose Barracuda which are the Oilers and Sharks affiliates.
After the 2021-22 season, Stalock signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks where he went 9-15-2 with two shutouts, a 3.01 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
During his final season with the Wild, Stalock started the year as the backup to Devan Dubnyk but after Dubnyk struggled, Stalock took over as the Wild's starter. He went 20-11-4 with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage during the 2019-20 season.
He carried his regular season numbers into the playoffs as he was the Wild's starter for the 2020 playoffs. Stalock went 1-3-0 with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage.
But now after 11 seasons in the NHL Stalock, 36, is ready for a 12th as he signs a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.
