ST. PAUL - After recording a goal and an assist in the 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Blues, Brock Faber moved past Matt Boldy for second most points in Wild history amongst rookies.

In 2021-22, Boldy recorded 15 goals and 39 points in his rookie season for the Wild. After picking up two points against the Blues on Saturday, Faber has now passed Boldy for the second most rookie points in a single season in Wild history.

"I think to have younger players in your lineup and play important roles and not only just play but be real productive players for you is certainly I think good for them as individuals and their confidence levels as players," Wild head coach said on Faber and Marco Rossi. "But also I think for your team moving forward, that’s certainly something that has to happen.

"Particularly in the salary cap era where you have to be able to have young guys come in to your lineup. Lots of times on entry level contracts. And if those guys can be impact players like rossi and faber have been, it certainly is going to help your team in the now, as they have this year, but also in the future, for sure."

Faber, 21, now has seven goals and 40 points in 71 games this season. He is also a plus five this season. Faber and Rossi are the only two Wild players to have played in all 71 games this season.

Wrote about how Faber should win the Calder Trophy back in February and despite the point totals changing, it still applies today.
