Jakub Lauko took only eight shifts in the Wild's 4-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
ST. PAUL - Jakub Lauko has been very important for the Wild this year. He has played solid defensively and has provided a spark every night.
On Monday night, Lauko took only eight shifts before he left with a lower-body injury. Wild head coach John Hynes said he isn't sure Lauko will join the team in Buffalo yet.
“It must have," Hynes said on if Lauko's injury came during his last shift in the second period. "They (Wild's training staff) just came in between periods and said he wasn’t going to come back for the game.”
The Wild changed Travis Boyd's emergency recall to a full recall so they will bring him to Buffalo. If Lauko can't play, Boyd will likely draw in. Or Marat Khusnutdinov.
Hynes said Khusnutdinov is still considered day-to-day. He will have an update on Lauko and Khusnutdinov before the Wild's game against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
