
Wild prospect David Spacek wins Gold at the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championships.
Team Czechia became the fifth-ever team to win the gold medal on home ice at the IIHF Men's World Championships yesterday after shutting out Team Switzerland 2-0.
Wild Prospect David Spacek finished the tournament with five assists and was a plus-1 in ten games for Czechia.
Czechia defeated Switzerland in the Gold medal game 2-0. Lukas Dostal, the Anaheim Ducks goaltender, stopped all 31 in the win. Switzerland had three former Wild players on their team. Kevin Fiala, Nino Niederreiter, and Christoph Bertschy.
Spacek, 21, became the sixth Wild player to win a medal at the tournament. Filip Gustavsson, Jesper Wallstedt, Jonas Brodin, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Marcus Johansson all won bronze after they beat Canada.
