The Wild have now reportedly traded Connor Dewar to the Toronto Maple Leafs

For their fourth trade in the last two days, the Wild have now traded forward Connor Dewar to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Michael Russo of the Athletic first reported it. Chris Johnston followed it up by saying the Leafs are the landing spot for Dewar. The Wild will get back a 2026 fourth-round pick and forward Dmitry Ovchinnikov. Ovchinnikov will remain with the Marlies while on loan from the Wild.

Dewar, 24, has ten goals and 14 points in 57 games for the Wild this season and has been one of the Wild's better faceoff guys this year. Dewar also ranks fifth on the Wild in hits with 94.

In fact, Dewar has more goals than Marcus Johansson who has averaged more than four minutes of ice time and is one goal behind Mats Zuccarello.

His most important trait is his defensive play and his penalty-killing efforts. With Brandon Duhaime being traded yesterday and now Dewar, the Wild have traded away their top two penalty-killing forwards.

The 5-foot-10 center has played 173 career games in the NHL and has recorded 18 goals and 38 points across three seasons, all with the Wild. Dewar was a former 2018 third-round pick and spent parts of three seasons with the Iowa Wild before making his NHL debut on October 28th, 2021.
