Joel Eriksson Ek won't play against the Islanders tonight.

ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild (32-19-4) host the New York Islanders (25-22-7) for one last game before the 4 Nations Tournament.

As warmups began, Wild forward Joel Eriksson Ek was not on the ice. The Wild don't have an extra forward so it looks like they will have to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen tonight.

It is unclear what happened to Eriksson Ek. He played 19 minutes on Thursday and finished the game. He is listed as out with a lower-body injury.

Eriksson Ek, 28, has nine goals, 14 assists, and 23 points in 41 games this season. It is also unclear if Eriksson Ek will compete in the 4 Nations Tournament for Team Sweden.

Update: Wild head coach John Hynes said postgame that Eriksson Ek's injury is not a big concern. He plans on playing for Sweden for the 4 Nations.
