The Minnesota Wild will have to wait until Sunday, Nov. 12, to see Dallas after being eliminated by the Stars in six games during April in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Wild's season will open at home against the runner-up Florida Panthers on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Key notes:
— The Wild have four games in 13 days in New York and New Jersey: the New Jersey Devils on Sunday, Oct. 29; the New York Islanders on Tuesday, Nov. 7; the New York Rangers on Thursday, Nov. 9; and the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, Nov. 10.
The Wild also play at home against the Devils on Thursday, Nov. 2, and the Rangers on Saturday, Nov. 4. So all six games against New York/New Jersey teams this season come between Sunday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Nov. 10.
— The Wild will play two games for the 2023 Global Series in Stockholm, Sweden. Those games are against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, Nov. 18, and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Nov. 19.
— The Wild will meet with the Chicago Blackhawks (and presumably Connor Bedard, the expected first overall pick) for the first time during the 2023-24 season on Sunday, Dec. 3.
— The Wild play the Vegas Golden Knights, who just won the Stanley Cup, for the first time on Monday, Feb. 12, at home.
— Longest homestand: Six games (March 23-April 6)
— Longest roadtrip: Five games (April 7-15)
— Most heavy month: December & January (14 games)
— Back-to-back games: 15
