Daemon Hunt has made a name for himself the last two training camps and has proved he has a future of being an NHL regular soon.
Hunt, 21, was drafted by the Wild in the 2020 draft with pick No. 65. The native Brandon, CAN, racked up 33 goals and 94 points in 163 WHL games with the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The 6-foot-1 defender has played 65 games with the Iowa Wild across a season and a half and has notched three goals and 12 points in that span.
Over the years, Hunt has developed the reputation of being a solid two-way physical defender which has caught the eyes of the Wild. He played in the first preseason game of the year and got blindsided by Tanner Kero which sidelined him with an upper-body injury for the last couple of weeks.
But Hunt has been medically cleared now and has been sent to the AHL where he will take part in his second full season of professional hockey and could be a defender the Wild call up if need be throughout the season.
