ST. PAUL - With an assist on the power play in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Brock Faber has set the Wild single-season rookie assist and points record.

The rookie defenseman has 15 points in his last 15 games and has four goals and 31 points in 51 games this year.

The previous single assist record held by a Wild rookie was Calen Addison's 26-assist season, last year for Minnesota.

Faber, 21, is on pace for six goals and 50 points in 82 games. Only three active defensemen have had 50-point seasons in their rookie year: Colorado's Cale Makar, Vancouver's Quinn Hughes, and Detriot's Moritz Seider.

The Minnesota native picked up an assist on the power play after Matt Boldy gave the Wild a 1-0 lead in the first period.

With the assist, Faber also broke the single-season defenseman record for most points as a rookie.
