
Former Wild forward Zach Parise signs a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche.

It was announced by the team yesterday that forward Zach Parise signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche earning him $825,000 for the one year.
Parise, 39, spent nine seasons in Minnesota before he was bought out by the Wild in 2021 after being signed to a 13-year deal back in 2012. The 5-foot-11 forward recorded 199 goals and 400 points in 558 career games with the Wild.
After Parise was bought out by the Wild, he signed with the New York Islanders where he spent the next two seasons. After putting up 36 goals and 69 points in 164 games with New York, the Islanders and Parise did not agree on a deal.
Now, Parise signs with the Avalanche who are first place in the Central Divison. The Minneapolis, Minnesota, native tallied six 40-point seasons with the Wild from 2012 to 2021 while serving as an assistant captain. Parise ranks third in points and goals and ranks second in game-winning goals with 39 in Wild franchise history.
The Wild are still paying Parise and will be paying him just over seven million to play a couple of games against them. In his career against the Avalanche, Parise has recorded 19 goals and 48 points in 51 career games.
