My name is Aaron Heckmann, and I am joining the Hockey News as a Minnesota Wild writer and reporter.
I have written about the Wild for three years, the past two years for 10KRinks.com under ZoneCoverage, which took over HockeyWilderness (previously SB Nation) in April.
In addition to that, I covered the University of Minnesota Gophers hockey team as a credentialed reporter for SB Nation’s The Daily Gopher this past season. I’m also the sports editor at my local newspaper. And in the past, I wrote for TheHockeyWriters.com and Fansided’s GonePuckWild.
As for what to expect from us, check out Dylan Loucks’ introduction piece for more information. But we will have everything from game day material (previews, gamers, etc.) to analytical and opinion pieces to features. And of course lots of prospect content as the Wild’s pipeline is the best in the league, according to The Athletic. I went twice this past season to Des Moines, Iowa, where I watched the Iowa Wild and talked with several of the Wild’s brightest prospects for prospect features, which I hope to do again at some point next season.
