Part 1: Minnesota Wild Prospect report Oct. 2-8

One of the Wild's top prospects has been traded to HC Sochi from SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.

Welcome to THN's weekly prospect report on the Minnesota Wild. We will highlight each of the Wild's top prospects along with the prospect of the week. Come back each week to find out how the Wild's youngsters have done. This week: Oct. 2-8.

    Hunter Haight C/RW, OHL

The former 2022 second round pick had a great week for the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL, where he recorded three goals in one game in Saginaw's 8-2 win over the Kitchener Rangers.

He scored two power-play goals in the game and one even-strength goal. Haight now has four goals and six points in three games this year.

    Go Deeper:

    Danila Yurov RW, KHL

The former 2022 first round pick recorded one goal and three assists in four KHL games for Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Yurov is tied for third on the team in points with eight in 15 games played.

He is projected to finish the year with 13 goals and 35 points in 66 games before he comes over to the states after the season is over.

    Rasmus Kumpulainen C, OHL

The big 6-foot-3 center had a good week for the Oshawa Generals where he notched three assists in two games played.

Kumpulainen has transitioned well to the OHL and currently is third on the team with three points. Although he hasn't scored yet in his first four games of the season, the 2023 53rd overall pick has looked great.

    Riley Heidt C/LW, WHL

The Wild's 2023 64th overall pick was very impressive during the Wild's training camp and has had a great start to the WHL season. In his first game Heidt notched three goals and five points in Prince George Cougars' 11-2 win over the Victoria Royals.

    Go Deeper:

During last week, Heidt picked up one goal and two assists in four games for the Cougars and currently ranks tied for fourth on the team in points with 11. He has recorded five goals and six assists in 6 WHL games.

    Marco Rossi C, NHL-Pre

After a good training camp, Rossi notched a couple of points in two preseason games during the week with one goal and one assist.

    Go Deeper:

Last preseason Rossi lead the Wild in points but couldn't translate that to the regular season, this year Rossi has looked a lot better but only notched two points in four preseason games.

    Servac Petrovsky C, OHL

The 2022 sixth round pick is someone who impressed a little bit during the preseason and is someone to keep an eye on throughout the season with the Owen Sound Attack.

During the week, Petrovsky notched one goal and one assist in two games for the Sound Attack. The 5-foot-11 center has one goal and three points in five games this year after finishing last year with 24 goals and 55 points in 62 games.

Prospect of the week: Hunter Haight.

Haight's three goal game was the most goals scored of any Wild prospect during the week and he did it in just one game. With four goals and six points in three games this year, Haight is someone to keep an eye on as the season goes on.
