Wild place Filip Gustavsson on Injured Reserve list and provide an update on Kaprizov's status
ST. PAUL - The injuries just keep coming for the Minnesota Wild who are already without Jonas Brodin and Mats Zuccarello, have now placed Filip Gustavsson on the injured reserve and declared Kirill Kaprizov out week-to-week.
There are also other players on this team that are playing through some lingering injuries but almost have to play through them because of the guys that are already out.
Mats Zuccarello was on the ice for morning skate today but Wild head coach John Hynes said his status remains the same.
The Wild lost both Gustavsson and Kaprizov in Winnipeg on Saturday and played without them on Sunday. They will have to continue to play without them for at least a week or more.
Gustavsson and Kaprizov's injuries come at a very rough time as the two were playing so well for the Wild over the last ten or so games.
Kaprizov was on a six game point streak that saw him put up five goals and ten points in that span. Gustavsson on the other hand was 8-2-0 under Hynes with a .932 save percentage and a 1.87 goals-against average.
Marc-Andre Fleury will get the bulk of the starts with Gustavsson out. Depending on how his MRI goes, the Wild could decide to call-up top prospect, Jesper Wallstedt from Iowa and send Zane McIntyre back down.
