The Wild have placed Vinni Lettieri on waivers with Alex Goligoski nearing a return from LTIR.
The Wild placed forward, Vinni Lettieri on waivers earlier with the possibility of Alex Goligoski coming off LTIR shortly.
Freddy Gaudreau came off of LTIR during the Global Series against the Toronto Maple Leafs and is back to 100%. Gaudreau returned to the lineup which knocked Lettieri out of it.
With Goligoski nearing a return, the Wild placed Lettieri on waivers for purpose of sending him down to the AHL. If he clears waiver, Lettieri will go to Iowa.
Lettieri, 28, has played in 11 games for the Wild and has recorded two goals. The Minnesota native has also played on the Wild's second power play unit and some penalty kill time. Lettieri is a solid player that the Wild really hope clears waivers so he can remain in the organization.
Minnesota hosts the Colorado Avalanche tonight after a long break. The Wild are looking to get back on track after losing their last five games. In the last two games, against the Ottawa Senators and Maple Leafs the Wild have looked a lot better but still did not come out with wins.
They do feel that they way they played during the Global Series is how they are supposed to play and soon will be rewarded with some wins if they keep it up. Tonight they will look to defeat the Avalanche who have won four games in their last five and are 12-6-0 on the year.
