The Minnesota Wild reassigned Daemon Hunt and Jujhar Khaira to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, the team announced Monday.
Hunt made his NHL debut in Washington D.C. Friday and then played his second game during the call-up in New Jersey Sunday.
The 21-year-old left-shot defenseman played about 10 minutes of ice time between the two games.
Khaira, 29, played about eight minutes in his Wild debut in Philadelphia Thursday before being scratched the final two games of the road trip.
And, in bigger news, Matt Boldy is expected to return to practice Wednesday, according to The Athletic's Michael Russo.
If Boldy isn't ready to play Thursday when the Wild host the Devils, they will need to recall a forward, which one would think would be Khaira.
Boldy has missed the past seven games after getting injured in Toronto in the second game of the season. He had one goal, two points and six shots as a +1 in 34 minutes of ice time in those two games.
Boldy's possible return to the lineup this week, potentially as soon as Thursday, would be perfect timing for the Wild.
The Wild are off to a slow start this season and have a 3-4-2 record through the first nine games of the season. The Wild have felt the absence of Boldy, one of their top play-drivers and scorers.
He's instrumental to the Wild's success, and they need him to build off his 31-goal 2022-23 campaign, where he took his game to the next level.
That landed him in the ESPN's top-100 player list for this season.
In Boldy's absence, the Wild have received scoring from everywhere in the lineup. Ryan Hartman (six) and Joel Eriksson Ek (five) lead the Wild in the goal-scoring department, while seven other players have scored at least twice.
The Wild have needed Boldy's skillset early this season, and he could be back in the lineup this week after returning to practice Wednesday.
