The Wild have announced today that captain Jared Spurgeon has been placed on LTIR and Jujhar Khaira has been recalled from the AHL following Freddy Gaudreau's injury.
Putting Spurgeon on LTIR doesn't mean he is out for the season, it just means he can't play in the next four games for the Wild.
This also allowed the Wild to call up another forward to replace Gaudreau who will not play against the Flyers tomorrow and didn't travel with the team.
Khaira, 29, had a great preseason with the Wild and has looked great down in the AHL this season with the Iowa Wild. Khaira has notched four assists in four games with the Iowa Wild.
Spurgeon has missed all six games of the season after he got hurt in a preseason game on October 5th on the road in Chicago. He is slowly working his way back from the upper-body injury but wasn't expected to play on the road trip.
