Wild Prospect David Spacek does a drill The former Wild defenseman announced his retirement from the NHL on Tuesday. Jordie Benn played in 607 career games across 12 seasons. Benn, 37, played for six teams during his career. Benn played for the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs in his career. The undrafted defenseman started his career with his brother, the Stars' Captain Jamie, in Dallas. He spent the first six years of his career in Dallas and the next two in Montreal. He then spent two seasons in Vancouver before he was traded to the Jets. After just eight games with the Jets, Benn signed a one-year deal with the Wild for the 2021-22 season. He played in 39 games for the Wild where he recorded one goal, eight points, 41 blocks, and 51 hits. Benn had over 100 blocks in six of his 12 seasons with 977 block shots in his career.
