The cap has not risen more than $4 million season over season since it went up $4.5 million from $75 million in 2017-18 to $79.5 million in 2018-19." } }, { "type": "paragraph", "data": { "text": "The Salary cap was at $81.5 million from 2019-22 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It did rise $1 million in each of the past two seasons but it will now take a $4.5 million increase next season. The lower limit per team for next season will be $65 million and the midpoint will be $76.5 million.
