The Wild are set for a three-game road trip starting in Philadelphia following their three-game homestand.

The Wild just wrapped up a three-game homestand that included a 7-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, a 5-4 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and a 7-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Last season the Wild got off to a very slow start which included seven allowed goals in the first two games and a 1-3-1 start. The only difference from last year is everyone was mainly healthy.

Just six games into the 2023-24 season and Jared Spurgeon has yet to play a game, Matt Boldy has only played two games, Alex Goligoski is on long-term injury reserve, and no Freddy Gaudreau is out with an upper body injury.

Injuries couldn't have happened to a worse team but that's hockey and the Wild have dealt with it very well. Coming into the season the Wild didn't have the cap flexibility to carry an extra forward that made over $850,000.

So injuries only made the situation tougher. The Wild even ended up playing with 11 forwards and six defenseman for a game in Montreal because they didn't have the flexibility to call up an extra forward. Minnesota did return home where they called up an extra forward after placing Goligoski on LTIR.

Now they will begin the roadtrip without Spurgeon, Goligoski, Boldy, and Gaudreau which are four very important players for the Wild but yet they still carry a points percentage record over .500 at 3-2-1.

The roadtrip starts in Philadelphia and ends in New Jersey with a stop in Washington in between. The Wild play a back-to-back starting tonight in Philadelphia and in Washington on Friday.

Jujhar Khaira was recalled by the Wild after they placed Spurgeon on LTIR. Khaira will take Gaudreau's roster spot. Boldy also traveled with the team but likely won't play against the Flyers or Capitals but could play in New Jersey on Sunday.
