  • The Canadiens training camp roster sits at 68 players after Cedrick Guindon (F), Florian Xhekaj (F), Quentin Miller (G), and Jan Spunar (G) were returned to their respective CHL teams on Sunday.

Players to Watch

  • The top two picks from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft face each other for the first time in NHL jerseys. Countrymen Juraj Slafkovsky and Simon Nemec will renew acquaintances at the Bell Centre on Monday night.

  • "I’ve had a bit of fun playing with [Josh Anderson and Juraj Slafkovsky] so far in the scrimmages here. I think both guys bring a lot to the table. Both guys are big, can skate and play hard. I think that compliments my game as well. We could be a really fast-paced line, a line that can create offense and shut other teams down."

The Devils will be icing a split squad in Montreal. Part of their roster will be in Newark, as New Jersey hosts the Philadelphia Flyers at the Prudential Center.

Expected to make the trip to Montreal are a group of players including Jack Hughes, Tyler Toffoli, Dawson Mercer, Chris Tierney, Simon Nemec, and Keith Kinkaid. Akira Schmid is expected to get the start in goal.
