Game Report

The Seattle Kraken are a team on a slide. With the loss on Monday night in Montreal, the Kraken completed their four-game road trip without a win and a record of 0-3-1. Seattle has lost seven of their last eight games.

It was important for the Canadiens to take advantage by having a strong start. Sean Monahan scored the first of two goals on the night four minutes into the first period. Monahan put an end to a 14-game goal drought.

Tanner Pearson scored early in the second period snapping his own dry spell, his first  in 20 games. Just over three minutes later, Monahan scored a power play goal, the first Montreal goal against the Kraken ever via the man advantage.

At 14:05 of the second period, Jared McCann beat Sam Montembeault with a snap shot over his shoulder. The Kraken made things interesting with a power play goal before the five minute mark of the third period. Vince Dunn potted a long distance shot with Mike Matheson in the penalty box.

But the Seattle attack fizzled, recording just one high-danger scoring chance in the final 40 minutes of the game.

Josh Anderson ended the longest drought of them all, firing the puck into an empty net for his first goal of the season in his 25th game..

Post-game Quotes

Josh Anderson

"I sat myself down and said 'you got to get back to way you were playing. You're in this league for a reason. You get to play the best sport in the world, just go out there and do your thing. Don't focus on scoring and get back to your game.'"
