    The Montreal Canadiens added to his offensive production on Wednesday against Poland at the IIHF World Championship.

    At the 2024 IIHF World Championship, there was one game on Wednesday featuring a Montreal Canadiens representative as Slovakia with Juraj Slafkovsky faced Poland at Ostrava Arena.

    Slovakia held a 2-0 lead late in the third period when Slafkovsky grabbed a loose puck along the boards, fought off two opposing defenders before taking a shot. Poland goalie David Zabolotny made the stop but Peter Cehlarik waited for the puck in the dirty area and knocked in the rebound for the goal.

    The Canadiens forward finished the contest with four shots on goal, two penalty minutes, plus-1 in 17:22 of ice time. Since the beginning of the competition, he amassed four points, plus-2, 18 shots on goal, and six penalty minutes in four games.

    Former Canadien Tomas Tatar was named Slovakia’s best player of the match against Poland. He obtained one goal, two assists, and plus-3 in 15:55 of action.

    On Thursday, there are four Canadiens representatives in competition. First, Finland with Oliver Kapanen will face Autria and Vinzenz Rohrer at 10:20am eastern in Prague Arena and will be available on TSN 1 in Canada. At 2:20pm eastern, Canada with Kaiden Guhle will be up against Norway in Prague Arena, while simultaneously, the United States with Cole Caufield will challenge France at Ostrava Arena. Canada’s game will be available on TSN 1 in Canada while the United States contest will air on TSN 3.
