3 Canadiens Forwards Looking To Break The Ice

These three Canadiens are players to watch.

The Montreal Canadiens have some players who have had quiet starts to the 2026-27 season.

Because of this, let's look at three Canadiens players who are looking to break the ice right now.

Kirby Dach

Kirby Dach has had a slow start to his contract year. In 12 games, he has zero goals and has recorded just two assists. With the 2019 third-overall pick looking to have a bounce-back, he will certainly be a player to keep an eye on as the campaign rolls on. If his offensive production picks up, it would help his chances of landing a nice contract this off-season in free agency.

Chris Kreider

After starting this season with four points in his first three games, Chris Kreider has cooled off since. The veteran winger has not recorded a point in each of his last eight games for the Canadiens. Yet, when looking at his resume, it should only be a matter of time before he heats back up for the Canadiens.

Oliver Kapanen

Oliver Kapanen naturally has some rust to shake off after missing each of Montreal's first seven games of the season due to injury. Since returning, Kapanen has zero points in four games. With Nick Suzuki out for multiple weeks, the Canadiens will be hoping that Kapanen can break the ice soon. The young center certainly has the potential to pick things back up, as he had 22 goals and 37 points in 82 games just last season.
