Montreal Canadiens to find new assistant coach

According to a report from Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, Alexandre Burrows will not return as an assistant coach for the Montreal Canadiens next season.

The decision was made so that Burrows could spend more time with his family, but would normally stay in the organization in another position.

Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes and head coach Martin St. Louis will now need to find a replacement.

Burrows started as an assistant coach with the Laval Rocket of the AHL in 2018, then transitioned as an assistant coach for the Canadiens in 2021.

Burrows played 913 games in the NHL from 2005-2018 for both the Vancouver Canucks and the Ottawa Senators. He totalled 205 goals and 204 assists during that time.
