Montreal Canadiens fan and singer Annakin Slayd released a new version of his Habs Anthem Rock The Sweater.
Two weeks ago, we spoke to singer Annakin Slayd about his love for the Montreal Canadiens, and we asked him if he was considering doing another anthem for the Habs following his hits 25 (Feels Like 93), MTL Stand Up and Rock the Sweater. He replied that he may just release a new version of Rock the Sweater if the Habs made it to the third round.
Fast-forward to today, with the puck about to drop on the Eastern Conference Final, and Slayd was true to his word; he launched a new version of Rock the Sweater, which includes lyrics about the current Canadiens, but also about other players he hadn’t included in the past.
The catchy tune includes mentions of Maurice Richard, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Yvan Cournoyer, Josh Anderson, John Kordic, Larry Robinson, Carey Price, Saku Koivu, Alexei Kovalev, John Leclair, Ken Dryden, Juraj Slafkovsky, Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson, Cole Caufield, Jean Beliveau, and Guy Lafleur, among others.
You can give the new version a listen on the following link and head over to Spotify to download it. Unsurprisingly, it’s as catchy as the last version, and we wouldn’t be surprised to hear it around town in the next few weeks as the Canadiens keep the chase for 25 going.
