Bell Centre to Co-Host Four Nations Face-Off

Montreal and Boston will host the inaugural Four Nations Face-Off in February 2025.

Excerpt from 'Habs Hockey Report' of host Amy Johnson commenting on how the Canadiens seem to be approaching the balance of development in the AHL.

The National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) announced on Saturday that Montreal and Boston will serve as the host cities for the Four Nations Face-Off in February 2025.

The tournament will feature NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and United States competing to winning the honors. The four teams will go through a round robin phase where a regulation win will be worth three points, two points for a win in overtime or shootout, and one point for a loss in overtime or shootout.

Montreal's Bell Centre will host the first four games of the tournament between February 12 and 15, while the TD Garden in Boston hosts the final two games of round robin and the championship between February 17 and 20.

"It's a privilege for us to host some of the best players in the world right here at the Bell Centre in this inaugural edition of the Four Nations Tournament," said France Margaret Belanger, president, sports and entertainment for Groupe CH via statement. "This event will only add to Montreal's storied role in making hockey history, and we look forward to welcoming fans from around the globe to our venue in February 2025."

The first six players representing each country are expected to be announced on June 28th as the hockey world will be at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

As a result of the Four Nations Face-Off tournament, there will be no All-Star Game during the 2024-25 season. Since 2016, the All-Star game featured a three-on-three, single-elimination tournament with four teams.

All games of the tournament will be broadcast on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada, and on ABC, ESPN, and TNT in the United States.

Given how some of the defense has played over the last eight games and some of the losses they have had over that period, Hynes’ has no legitimate justification to say that another player hasn’t deserved to come out to give Jiricek a shot. After some of the games, it could easily be argued he could not have been worse what they recently iced. Good he is getting the extra skating work with Ness. He could get that and playing time though. Ridiculous situation.
