All eyes should be on Slafkovsky this season.
Juraj Slafkovsky had a great 2025-26 season with the Montreal Canadiens, as he set career highs with 30 goals, 43 assists, and 73 points in 82 games. The young forward put together an excellent career year with Montreal.
Yet, could Slafkovsky be even better in 2026-27? The possibility certainly should not be ruled out.
Since entering the NHL in 2022-23, Slafkovsky has only gotten better with each season that has passed. With this, and the 2022 first-overall pick being only 22 years old, he certainly has the potential to hit another new level for the Original Six club during this season.
If Slafkovsky takes another step forward and blossoms into a point-per-game player this season, it would be massive for a Canadiens club that is looking to prove that last year's playoff run was not a fluke. When noting that he is playing with two superstars in Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, the possibility of him doing so should not be ruled out.
Nevertheless, it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of season Slafkovsky can put together for the Canadiens in 2026-27 from here.
