This Canadiens prospect will be playing in Switzerland again next season.
The Montreal Canadiens have made a decision with one of their forward prospects.
The Canadiens have announced that they have loaned forward Vinzenz Rohrer to EV Zug of Switzerland's National League for the 2026-27 campaign.
Rohrer spent most of this past season in the National League, but with the ZSC Lions. In 41 games with the Swiss club, he posted four goals and 12 points. This was after he recorded 15 goals and 25 points in 52 games with the ZSC during the 2024-25 campaign. Now, he will be looking to bounce back next season in the National League, but with EV Zug.
Rohrer also appeared in his first AHL regular-season game with the Laval Rocket last season, where he recorded a goal and an assit. He also played in five playoff games for Laval this spring, where he posted one assist.
Rohrer was selected by the Canadiens with the 75th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. There is a lot to like about the 5-foot-11 prospect's game, and it will be intriguing to see what he can do in 2026-27 with EV Zug from here.
