
The Montreal Canadiens have called up a few of their prospects.
The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have recalled Owen Beck, Adam Engstrom, David Reinbacher, and Florian Xhekaj from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
These four players will now serve as black aces for the Canadiens as they continue their post-season run. This comes after Laval was knocked out of the playoffs by the Toronto Marlies.
Beck appeared in 15 games this regular-season for the Canadiens, where he scored one goal. In 58 regular-season games for Laval, he had 13 goals and 33 points. He also had three goals and five points in five games for the Rocket this post-season.
Engstrom recorded 10 goals and 34 points in 45 regular-season games for Laval this season. He also had one assist in his first 15 career NHL games this campaign for the Canadiens.
Reinbacher recorded one assist in two regular-season games for the Canadiens this year. The 2023 fifth-overall pick had five goals and 24 points in 57 games for Laval this regular-season. He was held off the scoresheet in four playoff appearances for Laval.
As for Xhekaj, the gritty forward recorded 17 goals, 29 points, and 182 penalty minutes in 64 games this regular-season for Laval. He followed that up with one goal, one assist, and 34 penalty minutes in five playoff games for the Rocket. He also had one assist in five games this campaign for Montreal.
