Pickford needs to be watched.
The Montreal Canadiens have several players to watch as this pre-season carries on.
Among the Canadiens prospects who fans should be keeping an eye throughout this campaign is defenseman Bryce Pickford.
It is hard to ignore the offensive skill that Pickford possesses. During this past season with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL, the 6-foot-1 defenseman posted an incredible 45 goals, 38 assists, and 83 points in 55 games. With numbers like these, there is no question that the 20-year-old has strong offensive upside, and it will now be intriguing to see how he builds on it in 2026-27.
If Pickford can continue to grow his all-around game, he could very well become a future part of the Canadiens' blueline. There is a lot to like about the young defenseman's game, and it is hard not to feel optimistic about him when looking at the season he just had in the WHL.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how much of an impact he can make this season in the Canadiens' system.
