Will Phillip Danault bounce back for the Canadiens this season?
The Montreal Canadiens will soon begin their regular-season.
The Canadiens have some players to keep a very close eye on during the new campaign. This includes veteran center Phillip Danault, as he will be aiming to have a bounce-back year.
Danault is coming off a down season by his standards, as he recorded six goals and 17 points in 75 games split between the Los Angeles Kings and Canadiens. This was after he recorded at least 43 points in each of his previous four seasons, so he certainly has the potential to heat back up for Montreal this campaign.
Danault also just had a solid game offensively for the Canadiens during their most recent pre-season contest against the Ottawa Senators. This is because he scored a goal and recorded an assist. Now, he will looking to build off this as the Canadiens begin their regular-season.
It will now be interesting to see what kind of season Danault can have for Montreal in 2026-27. If he produces solid offense while playing a strong game defensively, it would be great for the Canadiens.
