Can Struble have a strong season for the Canadiens?
The Montreal Canadiens have many players to keep a close eye on during this season.
Among them is defenseman Jayden Struble, as the 25-year-old will be looking to prove that he deserves a permanent spot on Montreal's blueline.
Struble is one of multiple defensemen who are fighting to be regulars on the Canadiens' blueline. The left-shot defenseman is also entering the final season of his current contract with Montreal, so there is no question that this is an incredibly important campaign for the Canadiens' blueliner.
If Struble takes a step forward with his development, it would undoubtedly help his chances of sticking around on the Canadiens' roster after his current deal is up. However, if he struggles and is unable to cement himself as a mainstay on their blueline, it could very well lead to them moving on from him.
With this, Struble is going to be a fascinating player to keep an eye on during this season. It will be interesting to see what kind of campaign he can have from here.
In 59 games last season for the Canadiens, Struble posted two goals, 12 points, 58 penalty minutes, 115 hits, and a plus-4 rating.
