The Canadiens have assigned two of their prospects to the AHL.
The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have assigned forward Owen Beck and defenseman David Reinbacher to the AHL's Laval Rocket.
Beck was called up to the Canadiens' roster a little over a week ago. In two games with Montreal this season, the 6-foot center has posted zero points, two hits, and a minus-2 rating.
Beck will now be aiming to make an impact after being sent back down to Laval. In four games this campaign so far for Laval, the 2022 second-round pick has recorded one assist. This is after he had 13 goals and 33 points in 58 games for Laval this past season.
As for Reinbacher, he was called up to Montreal's roster last week. He played in one game for the Canadiens during his latest call-up, where he had a minus-1 rating and recorded two hits.
Reinbacher has posted two assists, 14 penalty minutes, and a plus-3 rating in four games this season for Laval. The 2023 fifth-overall pick will now be looking to continue to grow his game down at the AHL level with this demotion.
The Canadiens will play their next game on Oct. 23 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
