Max Domi tried to set the tone, but all he did was set himself up for a penalty.

Granted, most people were expecting some roughing up between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens tonight, but it wasn't to be. It's not that Max Domi didn't try. He decided to bait David Savard into fighting for reasons known only to Domi (and perhaps his dad).

The rugged vet had none of it. He looked at the uber pest as if to say, "Enjoy your first-row seat for two minutes, buddy," and watched him be taken away by the referee for the first penalty of the game just 1:16 in. Did something happen between the two when they were teammates in Columbus?

Meanwhile, Arber Xhekaj and Ryan Reaves shared the ice, and no gloves were dropped. It's hard to say if the Sheriff would have been as disciplined as Savard was. In any case, it seems like the moment has passed, and both teams came to play, as fans are treated to a skillful battle in Montreal tonight.
