The Canadiens should consider targeting these two Flames during the off-season.

The Montreal Canadiens should be looking to add to their roster this off-season after a successful 2025-26 season. Due to this, one team that the Canadiens should consider doing business with is the Calgary Flames.

The Flames are rebuilding and are expected to listen to offers for several of their players during the off-season. Because of this, let's look at two Flames players who the Canadiens should consider targeting this summer.

Blake Coleman

The Canadiens were connected to Blake Coleman during this season, and it would not be shocking if they targeted him during the summer. They could use a gritty forward who contributes offensively and works in all situations like Coleman. He is also a two-time Stanley Cup champion and a well-respected leader. In 69 games this season for Calgary, Coleman posted 20 goals, 35 points, and 152 hits.

Zach Whitecloud

With the Canadiens needing a boost on the right side of their blueline, a defenseman like Zach Whitecloud would make sense as a trade target for them. The 29-year-old has a bargain $2.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2027-28 season and would be a solid fit on Montreal's second pairing. In 78 games this season, Whitecloud recorded two goals, 17 points, 124 hits, and 140 blocks.
