The Canadiens should keep an eye on this Canucks winger during the season.

One of the Montreal Canadiens' top roster needs is another scoring winger to solidify their top nine.

The Canadiens have not brought in an impactful winger this off-season. If this remains the case once the regular-season is here, it would not be surprising if the Canadiens looked to add a winger during the campaign.

When looking at players who could make sense for the Canadiens to target during this season, Vancouver Canucks winger Jake DeBrusk stands out.

DeBrusk has been a trade candidate for quite a while now. He was discussed heavily in the rumor mill leading up to the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline, and it carried over to this summer. Yet, with the regular-season almost here, he is still a Canuck.

However, given the fact that the Canucks are rebuilding, it certainly seems possible that they will trade DeBrusk this campaign. If Vancouver has him available during the season, Montreal would be wise to kick tires on him.

If the Canadiens acquired DeBrusk, he would give them another scorer to work with in their middle six. His stats show this season, as he has scored at least 23 goals in four out of his last five seasons. He has also recorded at least 40 points in each of his last five seasons.

With numbers like these, DeBrusk would be a solid pickup for a Montreal club that could use more scoring. Due to this, it will be interesting to see if the Habs target the Canucks winger this season from here.
